Hosting, Installing WordPress

Actuallly i am very new to this “Web hosting” stuff. I am just a normal blogger who post regularly(not that regularly!) using blogspot/blogger. i maintain a blog @ Hill Stations in India which is an Ok blog(gets 55 to 60 visitors a day) i know thats pretty low.Couple of months back i came to know about Google Adsense stuff & applied for that, got some 10k Rs till now.Ha i am satisfied.
I always thought of having a own site (with my name “Sridhar Varma”) to have some benefits, so here i am posting on my own site/blog Sridhar Varma which i started couple of days back with BlueHost which offers quite a good package with a space of 300gb,250 mail a/c etc.
At First

1.I dont know what to do after purchasing the domain name & space.(How to carry on after that)

2.How to frequently post on my site(in a confusion that i should know html stuff very well)

3.About template/Design, What should be the content of my site?(not sure).

4.Will i use this site for Adsense?

Huh, i got all access to FTP, cpanel accounts & using the cpanel wizard, created mail ids, database & users.
What next? searching about some cool templates for the site, i gotta see so many site Powered By “WordPress”, so decided to use 1.
But how to install wordpress?
Below are the few simple steps to install wordpress.

1.Have a domain space (E.g you can have it from bluehost)
2.Download the latest wordpress in to your Local computer, un zip it.
3. Access you FTP using your Id & Password.
4. From the left hand side you can see the files/folders from your Local computer & Right hand side will the files under your www.testsite.com, there will be a folder called Public_html.
5.Select the wordpress folder on the left hand side from your Local computer & select the public_html on the right hand side
6.Click Upload.

FYI: if you want to install the wordpress at the root of your site, follow the above steps.
If you want to install on a subfolder, create a subfolder first(E.g. under Public_html create a folder called blog or wordpress, you can enter any name) & transfer the files from your Local to the sub folder you just created.

Depends on the proceedure you follow, you can see www.testsite.com or www.testsite.com/blog
Now the main part comes(You have downloaded & copied the files to your root or the subfolder)

Log in to your cpanel & double click on Mysql database, create a database & a user,Assign the user to the database.
E.g. Database Name: wordpress
User Name : sridhar

Click next & give full control like create, insert, modify rights.

Now you need to do some changes in wp-config-sample.php

Rename wp-config-sample.php to wp-config.php.

Even if you give database name & user name as “wordpress” & “sridhar’, it will create xxxx_wordpress, xxxx_sridhar.

You need to enter these details along with your password in the wp-config-sample.php

After completeing all the above things, open a browser & enter the url as www.testsite.com/wp-admin/install.php in case of the root, or www.testsite.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php

wordpress install page is displayed, follow the instructions.

If you dont give the full control of the database, you will see some database errors. other wise its as simple as that.

After installing, you can post, change your themes, what not!

Just wrote what I did, & dont know how much it will be help full for you guys.
Keep blogging ):
